Qur'an 4:69 And Qadiani Interpretation

Among their series of blatant lies and deceitful interpretations of Quran, You will see Qadianis often quoting the following verse to prove that Mirza Qadiani was a Prophet

All who obey Allah and the messenger are in the company of those on whom is the Grace of Allah,- of the prophets (who teach), the sincere (lovers of Truth), the witnesses (who testify), and the Righteous (who do good): Ah! what a beautiful fellowship!

(Qur'an 4:69)

Ahmadiyya Pocket Book Translate this verse as:

Whoso obey Allah and the messenger will be among those Whom Allah has bestowed His grace, Prophet, Truthful, the witness and the Righteous.

Muslim Stance about this verse is very clear. The verse neither speaks about the continuity of Prophethood neither says about the finality of it. Rather it speaks about the reward which will be given to those who follow Allah and His Messenger (PBUH) on the day of Judgement.

Few Questions for Ahmedies Brothers & Sisters!

Before we move forward here are few questions from Ahmedies. If we take the interpretation as they took then can they answer these questions

1. If, for the sake of discussion, we agree with Ahmedi interpretation, then why law bearing Prophets can not come?
2. Does this ayah exclude women, shemales, and children?
3. Mirza Ghulam Ahmed said about Hazrat Umar (ra) that He was the "Zill" of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Do Ahmedies dare to call Him Nabi?

4. Mirza Ghulam Ahmed writes, there were people in the past, named Muhammad and Ahmed by Allah. Why they can not be called Prophets?

5. Mirza Ghulam Ahmed writes "Denier of reformer (Mujaddid) is fasiq" Can any Ahmedi bring evidence from the commentareis of Past reformers?

Discussion on the meaning of مَعَ "ma'" :

Let's take a look into the Qadiani stance on the meaning of this word, analyse and then consider the Muslim stance and its proofs.

The Qadiani stance

The word Ma’ denotes concomitance of two or more persons in one place or at one time; or in position, rank or status. It also implies the sense of assistance in 9:40. The particle has been used at the several places in Quran in the sense of fi meaning among. (3:194 & 4:147)

The verse is important as it describes all the avenues of spiritual progress open to all Muslims. All the four spiritual ranks – the Prophet; The Truthful; The Martyrs and the

Analysis of Qadiani stance:

According to Qadiani there are four probable translation of word ma’
1- Concomitance of two or more persons in one place or at one time
2- Concomitance of two or more persons in or in position, rank or status
3- sense of assistance
4- in the sense of fi

Muslim Translation:

The word ma’ means “with”. No less, no more. The Qadiani commentary in this regard is highly twisted to take out the desired meaning.

1- Concomitance of two or more persons in one place or at one time
In 18:28 Allah asks Prophet, may Allah bless him, to keep himself patiently with those who call on their Lord morning and afternoon. If Qadiani translation of word ma’ is accepted, how would this verse be translated.

If concomitance of two or persons in one place/time is considered then Qadiani commentary of 4:69 is bounced back on themselves because it goes in favour of Muslim commentary depicting the concomitance of those who obey Allah and His messenger and the Prophets, the Siddiqun the martyrs, and the righteous.

2- Concomitance of two or more persons in or in position, rank or status
If we take ma’ as concomitance of two or persons in rank, status or position then it means Ma’az Allah Allah is asking the Prophet to lower his status from Prophethood to people who call on their lord.

3-sense of assistance

The word ma’ implies sense of assistance as in 9:40 or 8:46. Even in these verses the word ma’ can easily be translated as “with” to show Allah’s assistance. “Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us” 9:40 or And be patient, indeed Allah is with the patient ones.” (8:46) . Having Allah “with” you is simplified form of having “Allah’s assistance with you”.

4- in the sense of fi

As for verses 3:194 and 4:147 the Ahmadiyya commentary is unnecessarily been dragged to translate the word ma’ same as fi. In 3:193 the qualities of Ulul-albab (People of understanding) is mentioned that they pray to Allah to and make them die WITH the Abrar. “Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and expiate from us our evil deeds, and make us die (in the state of righteousness) along with Al-Abrâr”. Surprisingly the reference given here contradicts with the original text that can be seen here (3:193) 

Ma’ is translated as “with” the very exact translation of this word.

When was this verse revealed? (Shan e Nazool)

Now let us look into the Hadith narrations which about the event at which this Ayah was revealed. This will also prove that the Ayah has nothing to do with the idea of Prophethood or any probability of someone become a prophet. It simply speaks of the reward for those who obey Allah and His Messenger, may Allah bless him.

A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Verily you are dear to me than my own-self, and verily you are dear to me than my children and (it happens that) I am at home and remember you and I then I do not find patience until I come and see you. And when I remember my death and that of yours I understand that when you will enter Jannah you will be on a higher level along with the prophets and when I will enter Jannah, I fear I will not see you." At this the Prophet, may Allah bless him, did not respond to him with anything until Gabriel came with this Ayah,'All who obey Allah and the messenger are in the company of those on whom is the Grace of Allah,- of the prophets (who teach), the sincere (lovers of Truth) ...'

(Mu'jam al-Awst, Hadith 484. Classified as Sahih by Albani in Sahiha 2933)

A man from the Ansar came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him, and he was sad. The Prophet, may Allah bless him, said to him: "O so-and-so why is that I see you saddened?" So he said: "O Prophet of Allah! Something made me think about it." He (the Prophet) said: "What is that?" He said, "We come to to you and see your face and sit in your company, and soon you will be raised (to stay) with the Prophets so we will not be able to meet you (there in Jannah). So the Prophet, may Allah bless him, did not reply him anything. Then Gabriel came with this Ayah, All who obey Allah and the messenger are in the company of those on whom is the Grace of Allah,- of the prophets (who teach), the sincere (lovers of Truth), the witnesses (who testify), and the Righteous (who do good): Ah! what a beautiful fellowship!" So the Prophet, may Allah bless him, called for him and gave him the good news.

(Tafsir al-Tabari 8/534 Narration 9924)

Qadiani Stance about the probability of a Prophet can also be crushed by these following Ahadith.

First Hadith

'A'isha reported: I heard that never a prophet dies until he is given an option to opt the life of (this) world or that of the Hereafter. She further said: I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) say in his last illness in which he' died. I heard him saying in gruffness of the voice:Along with those persons upon whom Allah bestowed favours from amongst the Messengers, the testifiers of truth, the martyrs, the pious and goodly company are they(iv. 69). (It was on bearing these words) that I thought that he had been given choice (and he opted to live with these pious persons in the Paradise).
(Muslim :: Book 31 : Hadith 5988)

Second Hadith

Hazrat Ma'az (ra) narrated that The prophet also said, "He who recites a thousand verses for the sake of Allah will be written on the day of resurrection as being among the prophets, the truthful, martyrs and righteous who are worthy companions, if Allah wills it

Third Hadith

Abu Sa’eed reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him, said: "The truthful trustworthy merchant is with the Prophets the True ones and the martyrs (on the Day of Resurrection).
(Jami' Tirmidhi, Hadith 1214)

Can any Qadiani reply how many Truthful merchant got the status of Prophet?

Fourth Hadith

`Amr bin Murrah Al-Juhani said,"A man came to the Prophet and said, `O Allah's Messenger! I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah, pray the five (daily prayers), give the Zakah due on my wealth and fast the month of Ramadan.' The Messenger of Allah said, 'Whoever dies in this state will be with the Prophets, the truthful and martyrs on the Day of Resurrection, as long as - and he raised his finger - he is not disobedient to his parents.'"

(Majma' al-Zawaid 8/147. Sahih Targhib wal Tarhib, Hadith 2515)

So, As per Qadiani belief every one can get the status of Prophet while on the contrary Mirza himself said that Nabuwat is a blessing of Allah and can not be earned by striving.

All these points are quite enough to show the flimsiness of the Qadiani stand-point. Infact the details above are clear enough to bust the Qadiani argument.

May Allah bring them to True Islam

Indeed Allah knows the best

Yacoob..

1st of all keep in mind that we do not consider him a prophet.

2nd, I have given you proof from the syaing of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) which you ignored without commenting.

He wrote Braheen e Ahmediyya with the help of Allah where he said Jesus (PBUH) will come. ?

So do not give me this crap... He got nothing from Allah (S.W.T)..

Speak if you have something to say on the topic.
